AI security for farms and rural businesses
Lights out.
Eyes on.
The NightOps AI Security System watches every camera on your farm, all night. When it's armed and someone's in the yard, the floodlight comes on, a warning plays and your phone knows.

THE PROBLEM
Thieves still target farms
Thieves often come at night, when nobody's watching the cameras. NightOps watches them for you.
-
£41.5m
Estimated cost of rural theft in the UK in 2025
-
31%
Rise in the cost of quad and ATV theft, to £3.5m
-
Nearly 30%
Rise in the cost of livestock theft, to £4.5m
HOW IT WORKS
What happens when someone's in the yard
The Brain connects to your cameras and floodlight. Once it's armed, it runs on its own every night, with no one watching a screen.
-
01
Spots
The Brain watches every camera at once and picks out people and vehicles, not just movement.
02:14:07 CAM-03 · person -
02
Lights up
The yard floodlight and the camera's own spotlight come on, so whoever's there knows they've been seen.
Yard floodlight on -
03
Warns them off
The camera's siren sounds and a recorded warning plays through its speaker.
"You're on camera. The owner is being alerted." -
04
Alerts you
Your phone gets an alert with a snapshot. Watch live, sound the siren again or ring 999: you decide.
NightOps
Someone's at the yard gate. Floodlight's on.
When it's disarmed, or a known vehicle like the milk tanker drives in, it just logs it.
WHAT YOU GET
The NightOps AI Security System
Everything a typical farmyard needs, fitted in one day.
-
The Brain
A small AI computer that lives in your farm office. It watches every camera at once, keeps the recordings on its own 2 TB drive and switches on the lights and siren.
-
4 colour night-vision cameras
Wired 4 MP cameras that see in colour at night. Each has its own spotlight, siren and speaker, and goes where thieves come in.
-
Floodlight control
A smart relay lets the Brain switch on one of your existing yard floodlights. A qualified electrician wires it in.
-
Network and cabling
An 8-port switch and up to 30 m of outdoor cable to each camera. One cable carries power and video.
-
Alerts and live view on your phone
Alerts with a snapshot, live view of every camera, and one tap for the floodlight, siren and warning. Arm it on a schedule or with one tap, and alert the whole family at once.
-
2 CCTV signs
They name you as the operator and give a contact, as UK rules require.
-
Survey, fitting and setup
A free site survey, then one fitting day. We set the zones, armed hours, known vehicles and who gets alerts, then do a test walk across the yard after dark so you see a real alert arrive. For the first two weeks we fine-tune it remotely.
Your cameras never touch the internet. They only talk to the Brain, and remote access runs through an encrypted tunnel with no open ports.
Until our own NightOps app arrives (planned for 2027), alerts and live view come through a free app on iPhone or Android that we set up for you.
What the monthly service covers
- Alerts and live view on your phone, wherever you are
- AI and security updates for the Brain
- Health checks: we're told if a camera or the Brain goes offline
- Support by phone or message
- A replacement camera or Brain if one fails while your service is active
When our own app arrives (planned for 2027), the monthly service also covers the morning report and the yard map.
PRIVACY
Your farm. Your footage.
-
The AI runs on the farm, not in the cloud
All the watching happens on the Brain in your farm office. Your video isn't sent away to be analysed.
-
Recordings stay on the farm
Recordings stay on the Brain, on your property. Live view and clips go to your phone over an encrypted link, and we never store your video.
-
No face recognition
It looks for people and vehicles. It doesn't try to work out who anyone is.
-
Nobody here watches your cameras
We only access your system to set it up, fine-tune it and support you, under a written data processing agreement.

ADD-ONS
Add what your site needs
All fitted. The monthly price stays the same however many cameras you add. The standard setup takes up to 8 cameras.

|---|---|---|---|
| Extra camera | Another colour night-vision camera for a shed, a door or the fuel tank | £245 | £294 |
| Gate and number-plate camera | 5× zoom for clear pictures of vehicles and number plates at gates and on long drives | £295 | £354 |

| Wireless bridge | Links a far barn or gate without digging a trench | £245 | £294 |
| 4G router | Internet where there's no broadband, and a backup where there is. Needs a mobile signal, which we check at the survey | £195 + data at cost | £234 + data |
| Battery backup (UPS) | Keeps the Brain and cameras running through short power cuts | £95 | £114 |
| Brain Plus | A more powerful Brain that also writes a short description of each event on site, like 'someone tried the workshop door and left by the gate'. Handles 16 or more cameras | +£695, or +£995 with 24 GB | +£834, or +£1,194 with 24 GB |

Number-plate reading is how the Brain recognises known vehicles. Before it's switched on, we help you complete a short data protection check, and your signs say that plates are read.
FAQ
Questions farmers ask
Does it call the police?
No. NightOps alerts you, not the police. You get the alert on your phone and decide what to do, including ringing 999 if a crime is in progress.
Is someone watching my cameras?
No. The AI on the Brain does the watching, on your farm. Our team only accesses your system to set it up, fine-tune it and support you, under a written data processing agreement.
Is my video uploaded to the cloud?
No. The AI runs on the Brain at your farm, and recordings stay on it. Live view and clips go to your phone over an encrypted link, and we never store your video.
Will animals set it off?
It's set up to alert on people and vehicles, not animals. If something does slip through, tell us and we'll tune it for your site.
Will it go off when I'm in the yard?
Only when it's armed. Set armed hours, say 22:00 to 06:00, or arm it with one tap. Known vehicles, like the milk tanker or your family's cars, can be listed by number plate so they never raise an alarm (see "Can it read number plates?").
What if there's no broadband?
Add our 4G router (£195 + VAT, or £234 inc VAT, plus data at cost). It needs a usable mobile signal at the yard, which we check at the survey. The Brain keeps recording even if the internet drops.
What happens in a power cut?
Add battery backup (£95 + VAT, or £114 inc VAT) to keep the Brain and cameras running through short power cuts.
Can I add cameras later?
Yes. Extra cameras are £245 + VAT (£294 inc VAT) each, fitted, and the monthly price stays the same. The standard setup takes up to 8 cameras, and Brain Plus handles 16 or more.
Which cameras do you fit?
As standard, Reolink 4 MP colour night-vision cameras, each with a spotlight, siren and speaker. They never connect to the internet, only to the Brain. If you'd rather have non-Chinese cameras, we can quote for Axis or Hanwha Vision.
Who owns the kit, and is there a contract?
You own the kit. The service has a 12-month minimum, then runs month to month. If you cancel, the Brain keeps recording on your farm, but remote alerts and updates stop.
What if something breaks?
The Brain tells us if a camera or the Brain goes offline. We aim to fix things remotely by the next working day, or visit within 5 working days. While your service is active, we replace a failed camera or Brain.
How long are recordings kept?
Event clips are kept on the Brain for 30 days by default. You can choose a shorter time.
Can it read number plates?
Yes. The Brain reads plates on site, which is how it recognises known vehicles, and the gate camera's 5× zoom helps at gates and on long drives. Before plate reading is switched on, we help you complete a short data protection impact assessment, and your signs say that plates are read.
Is it legal?
Yes, used properly. You're responsible for your CCTV under UK data protection law: signs at the entrances (we supply two), cameras pointed at your own land, and footage kept secure and only as long as you need it. Most businesses that use CCTV to prevent crime also need to pay the ICO data protection fee, which is £52 a year for most small businesses. We set the system up with all this in mind.
Which app do I use?
Until our own NightOps app arrives (planned for 2027), a free app on iPhone or Android that we set up and connect to your Brain.
